Polling Place Change Media Release for the Consolidated Election April 4, 2023
POLLING PLACE CHANGES
Grundy County Clerk, Kay Olson, would like to make voters aware of two polling place changes that will go into effect at the upcoming April 4, 2023 Consolidated Election.
Voters residing in the Maine 1 precinct will now vote at the Felix 2 polling location, Felix Township Hall, 6525 E. Whitetie Rd., Coal City, IL.
Voters residing in the Vienna 1 precinct will now vote at the Highland 1 polling location, KMTC Community Center, 219 Main St., Kinsman, IL.
These polling changes were prompted due to the lack of election judges in these areas. The Clerk’s Office has also consolidated several other precincts over the last few years, in an effort to be more efficient and for cost savings to the County. These consolidations have proven to be successful.
Signs will be posted on the doors to the regular polling locations on Election Day, and postcards have been sent to all voters of these precincts, also notifying them of the changes. These polling place changes will be permanent changes, and will be reflected on the next voter registration card the voters receive.
Olson would like to remind voters of the Early Voting and Vote by Mail opportunities, which are available now. Early Voting takes place at the Grundy County Courthouse, and continues through April 3rd. Vote by Mail applications may be submitted now through March 30th. Voters with questions or concerns may contact the Clerk’s Office at 815-941-3222, #1, or may email questions to elections@grundycountyil.gov.
